What is the hybridization of HCl (hydrochloric acid) ?

Is the hybridization sp3 or sp? The shape is linear but the chlorine has 3 other electron pairs surrounding it. (But these electrons are not usually involved in bonding, so do they contribute to the hybridization of the molecule?)
