You can break you hymen using tampons but this isnt always the case. Sometimes you just make a hole in it where teh tampon goes (so ive read). Either way if is very painful you should go get checked out to make sure everything is okay down there. It probably isnt anything to worry about though and first time is often painful. You could try some different positions to start you off though if you dont want to visit you doc yet. Try you on top because then you have more control over how far in it goes. If you still feel pain you shud get checked out tho i think.
