HELP! I'm looking for an old pc game. It's a mystery game set in an old house?

It was a mystery, set in a house, with a butler i think, he talked to you and you had to complete puzzles in rooms. The butler had a strange, quiet, American voice, and i seem to remember a hand? You, as a character were never seen, only a hand was visible... perhaps i'm not remembering correctly. The graphics were good for the time and the music was quite atmospheric. The puzzles were quite difficult... Please help me remember lol
