Should I worry about sharks in Martha's Vineyard?

I'm going on a little trip to Martha's Vineyard on Tuesday with my girlfriend. I love to swim in the ocean, but alas, my girlfriend has a fear of sharks. She says she is hesitant about swimming in waters where there have been shark attacks/sightings. Should we be worried about being attacked by sharks in Martha's Vineyard?
