If I as a white person were in a group called "the Race" which promoted being white would I be racist?

I'm against any race based organization and La Raza's charter is improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans and raise civil rights issues just like the NAACP. They also have a radical wing which is racist and believes that the land taken during the war with Mexico should be returned to Mexico. Not sure why they practically own it now.
